Ross Castle, built during the 16th century, is a listed building restored to contemporary standards and accented with beautiful antique furnishings and oriental rugs. The historic 120-acre lakefront estate is entirely immersed in a spectacular setting of mountains, lake, and parklands.
Developed in 1539 by The "Ferocious" O'Flaherty, one of the most distinguished tribes of Galway, the property was later acquired by the Martin Family who built the present manor house upon the former castle's foundation. After two fires and much neglect, the McLaughlin family acquired the estate and have spent several decades restoring the estate to its present splendour.
